"He's Been In Your Shoes"
By Zach Wood
Hebrews 4:15-16
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses,
but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin.
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy
and find grace to help us in our time of need.

It’s a wonderful thing when people you know, and even those you have never seen before, come and comfort you in a time of sorrow, despair and loss.  It’s a great comfort to know people care and are willing to help out in any way they can.  There are people who leave their phone numbers and plead with you to call, no matter what time of day, if you need someone to talk to.

Then there are the people who come to you and are able to relate to what you’re feeling because they have been in your shoes.  That’s a comfort we need to have and know is there.  There are people who can relate and others who cannot.  There’s nothing wrong with being in one group or the other.  But something about being able to relate to someone in a time of need is unique and special.

It’s just a part of life that some people can relate to what you’re going through and other people cannot.

What a comfort it is to know that, no matter what you’re feeling or dealing with, there is no situation that Jesus Christ cannot comfort and relate with you through.  He went to the Cross and gave His precious life so that we wouldn’t be left feeling like no one understands the pain we go through.

Just like an old hymn that says  “He is always there, hearing every prayer, faithful and true.  Walking by our side, in His love we hide all the day through.  When you get discouraged, just remember what to do. Reach out to Jesus, He’s reaching out to you.”

He gave us His life so that we would have peace and comfort in our times of need.
