"More Powerful Than We'll Ever Know"
By Zach Wood
Hebrews 4:12-13
For the Word of God is living and active.  Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates
even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.  Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight.  Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

There are more books in this world than we will ever be able to read.  You can go into a bookstore and find books on any topic that you want to read.  There's probably no topic that cannot be covered in some book in one way or another.  Many books we get our hands on and read can make our imagination come to life!  Books can make us emotional, excited or get us thinking deeper.

No matter what book you find, there is no book that is going to cause you to think deeper or penetrate your heart more than the Word of God.  You can search the entire planet, but you are not going to find a book with so much depth and so much inspiration.  It actually makes me sad to think how so many of us probably fall into the trap of just reading the Bible and not taking all we should from it.  God has written us a tremendous love letter and we take it for granted so often.  I know I am very guilty of not letting the Word of God come to life in my own heart many times.

If we truly focus on His words and let them sink into our hearts and minds, our thoughts and attitudes will become different and change to becoming more like Christ.  Not only is His Word more powerful than we'll ever know, but it also convicts us of things we need to change and get rid of in our lives.  How often do you read Scripture and just feel spiritually beaten up?  The enemy clutters up our lives and we need to read His Word and become stronger in Him so that we can grow spiritually.  We cannot hide anything from God and the more we read His Word, the closer we become to Him.

I pray this devotional would be a reminder to all of us how vital it is to remain solid in our study of Scripture and walk with Him.  If we do not, the more control Satan has in our lives and gets a foothold on us.  His Word is more powerful than we'll ever know or comprehend.
