“The Most Wonderful Of
All”
By Zach Wood
Colossians 1:13-14
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and
Brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we
Have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year” is the title to a song that we hear a
lot on the radio during the Christmas season. Decorations in homes, on houses,
on buildings and in the streets are so beautiful. People go to great lengths to
catch the eyes of those looking for a great light illumination! Christmas is
probably one of the most wonderful times of the year just because of all that
goes on and the beauty colors of all to see..
This past week, I have gazed upon this Scripture passage and it has reminded me
of the most wonderful gift that we could ever imagine having, Jesus Christ. With
all the activities going on during this time of year, it is quite easy to get
caught up in the happenings and forget what and Who we are celebrating. We have
King Who came to this earth, lived a perfect life and went to a Cross to take on
the sins of you and I.
I pray and hope this devotional and Scripture passage will be a reminder for us
all to remember the greatest rescue we have ever witnessed. When Jesus rescued
us from the old sinful life we used to live in and brought us into the Kingdom
of the Son He loves. This is the greatest thing that could have ever happened in
our lives. We have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of sins.
While you’re busy with meal preparations, gift wrapping and visiting with family
and friends, please do not forget to take time to remember why we even have all
these opportunities for festivities. We only have the life and hope we do now
because of what Jesus Christ did for us. If we never had Christ, we would not
even have Christmas. That is the true reason for this season.
