"Trusting God"
By Zach Wood
Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on
your own understanding.
Most of us have probably recited this verse numerous times and can quote
it from memory at the drop of a hat. We have probably heard this recited in
sermons, small groups or other Christian events as well. It is easy to
encourage others to trust in God and lean on His understanding only, but it
is very difficult when you yourself come into a situation or a period of
time when you have to do nothing but trust.
Are you there? Are you in that time when all you can do is trust?
Nothing else is making sense in life, but you continue to trust? Are you
going to God everyday and just asking Him to give you strength and guidance
for that day alone? This proverb is essential to living our daily lives for
Christ. However, it is even more essential to sincerely believe it! Do you
just recite this verse and go on with life like it is just another memory
verse to repeat from time to time? Or, do you truly believe in the words
that are spoken?
We are to 100 percent trust in God with all our being. We are not to
leave one ounce of trust behind. If we say we trust in the Lord, we must
trust with everything inside. Our heart, soul and mind must trust and do
nothing less. Yes, this is a difficult concept to follow and hold onto at
times, but it is, as I said before, very essential to growing stronger in
our walk with Christ. We must realize that His ways and understanding are
far beyond our own. When I say far, I mean FAR. Do not even try to
comprehend His ways. He created each one of us without the ability to
comprehend His ways.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. I have to do it and so do you.
If we do not trust in Him, life gets even more confusing and difficult.
Stop trusting your own understanding and pray for strength to walk in His
ways. Trusting God is essential to living a healthy, Godly life.
