"Comfort In A World Of Craziness"
By Zach Wood
John 14:1-3
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust
in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were
not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you,
I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
I have read this passage of Scripture for the past
week almost everyday. Every time I read it, I think of how critical a time
when Jesus gave His disciples comfort in knowing that this world was not
their home. Jesus told the twelve to not let their hearts be troubled, but
to realize that there is a home being prepared for them in heaven. What a
reassurance from the Son of God! This passage speaks to us even today.
Jesus has promised that He is going to prepare a place for us to come home
and enjoy!
Jesus gives us comfort because He knows the world we
live in is full of concern, worry, exhaustion, trouble, confusion, pain and
sorrow. He is coming back to get us one day and then we will go to be with
Him in paradise! Are you excited? I am!
Whatever you might be experiencing today or this week
that is possibly causing you discomfort, just bring it before the Throne of
God and you will find peace and reassurance. The world's craziness will
never end and we can either get caught up in the whirlwind or we can come to
the Savior and receive peace everlasting that only God can bring. If find
myself constantly trying to make sense of so much of life, when all I really
need to do is become before the Throne of God and lay my concerns before
Him and let peace flow through me.
If your heart is troubled over something going on in
your life, remember that Jesus wants to bring you comfort beyond what the
world can give. Allow Him to give you peace and a restful spirit.
May you be able to experience comfort from the Savior
in a world of craziness daily.
