"Floodgates From Heaven"
By: Zach Wood
Malachi 3:10
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there
may be food in my house.
Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I
will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing
that you will not have room enough for it.
A couple of weeks ago, my wife's car was smashed up by a county salt
truck. She was in the car with our daughter Jayda, but neither of them were
hurt. It was simply an accident where the car was totaled out and resulted
in no medical problems. We have so much to praise God for! I could have
received a call that my wife was in the hospital in serious condition or
that it was a fatal accident with my wife and daughter. I could not even
imagine that situation! God was protecting both my wife and daughter. The
situation turned out better than we ever thought. With the car being
totaled out, most of the loan was wiped out. What a blessing! God is
good!
Also, in the past couple of weeks, there have been other situations in
which God has shown His provision financially with us. This is not to say
we have become rich or won an offer from the "Banker" on Deal or No Deal,
but God has really provided some ways for us to take care of some debt we
have been under for quite some time. My wife and I are just sitting back
and watching God at work in our lives. He is taking care of us. He always
takes care of us.
I share this with you to encourage you in your living for God. I do not
know what all is going on in your lives, but I do know this, trust God.
Trusting God is so hard to do sometimes. He works in ways that we can never
imagine Him working. He is ALWAYS faithful. If we are faithful to Him, He
promises to open the floodgates of heaven and rain blessings down on us.
All we can do is be faithful in giving to Him with our finances, our time,
resources and all areas of our life. I want this devotional to be a
testimony to all of you of God's provision and faithfulness as He promises
to give.
If you find yourself in very challenging situations right now, I
encourage you to trust God with your whole being. As Romans 12:1 states
that we should offer ourselves as living sacrifices. Giving of ourselves
completely to God and allowing Him to be in control of all areas of our
lives. God has promised and still promises to take care of us. Trust God
in your finances, in your relationships with others, your marriage and your
relationship with your children. Give it all up to Him and watch Him as He
blesses you.
I pray that this devotional will remind you of His faithfulness. He will
open the floodgates of richness in your lives. It is not always a financial
matter, but many times, this seems to happen with people who are
experiencing huge financial difficulties. My wife and I always strive to be
faithful to God and we trust that He will provide for our needs. He always
does and He always will for you as well. Trust Him and watch Him open the
floodgates.
