"Completely Sold Out"
By: Zach Wood
Romans 12:1
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.

This past Sunday morning, I shared this Scripture for the offering meditation.  Instead of reading a passage that dealt specifically with money, I felt led to share this passage that talks about how we are to be totally sold out to Jesus Christ by offering our whole life to Him.  Giving of our tithes and offerings to God is vital, but it is just part of our worship to God.  God does not just command us to give with our money, but with our whole lives.  We need to be completely giving with everything we do.

Have you ever been to a store to purchase a brand-new CD, a book, or maybe a movie, only to find out that there is a notice reading, "Sorry, all sold out!"?  The item you want to purchase is not available.  The only difference between an item being sold out and us being sold out to Christ is that we should always be sold out.  Items in stores usually become replenished to customers.  If we are totally sold out to Christ, giving Him all that we are everyday, no one else should be able to "snatch" us.  The enemy loves to distract us and keep us from being totally sold out to Christ.

Are we living our lives as living sacrifices, laid out completely on the altar and surrendering to Christ each day?  We need to be!  I find this is a must each day.  Each day, we must choose to be completely sold out to Him and live our lives for Him.  I personally feel better when I verbally tell God, in prayer, that I desire to be completely dedicated to Him and sold out for Him.  God does want us to give back to Him with our finances, but it is so much more than that.  We need to give Him our whole lives and surrender everything to Him.  When we do, we will desire to serve Him more and give to Him more.  Giving cheerfully will flow from that surrender.

My prayer for each of us is that we will strive to be completely sold out to Jesus Christ.  Sold out and not available to live for anyone else but Him and further the Kingdom.  He wants us to be holy and pleasing as we live our lives for Him.
