"24/7/365 Thanksgiving"
By: Zach Wood
1 Thessalonians 5:18
Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

We are coming upon, yet, another year where we get out the turkey, prepare a huge meal, stuff our faces, sit back and watch a football game and fall asleep. Is there something missing here? Now, I'm not suggesting that we have forgotten the true meaning of Thanksgiving.....or have we?

In the past couple of weeks, my heart has truly broken to see Christmas decorations up over where I live and other towns. I have seen the shelves in stores race and quickly empty from Halloween material to Christmas goodies. I'm not against Christmas. I'm just sad to realize the lack of importance that seems to be placed upon the day of Thanksgiving. We have so much to be truly thankful for in this country and in this life we have as Christians and yet we have one day that is nationally declared "Thanksgiving". My heart this past week has been reminded that thanks is to given every single day and every single moment of our lives. With all that God has done for us, there should not be a moment which passes where we don't offer up thanks to our Lord and Savior for what He has done for us.

Paul urges us to be thankful in every situation and circumstance we encounter. Yes, even the tough situations? Why? Because we can truly see God at work in all things, even if we have to wait to realize what He has done through our trials. Since He is always at work in our lives, He so much deserves constant and consistent praise and adoration from His Children. Don't you agree? How could He deserve anything less?

The clock is still ticking.....God has and is still blessing.....So where is our daily thankfulness to Him?
